The update 1.5 in Stardew Valley is now live. It has a host of features like new collectibles, mysteries, and explorable areas. It also introduces split-screen multiplayer in the game.
The split-screen multiplayer works very much like online multiplayer, so players who have already been playing the game online will receive the same level of support. This guide aims to help you understand how to play split-screen in Stardew Valley.
Playing Split-Screen in Stardew Valley
In order to play split-screen in Stardew Valley, you first have to construct a cabin from Robin’s for players who will join the game. In case you are starting a new game, you will be able to choose from the pre-built cabins in the advanced game options menu.
After the cabins have been constructed, you need to go to the game menu. There, go down to Multiplayer and choose “Start local co-op.” Your friends can now join the game by pressing Start on their own controllers. After all the players have joined, you can adjust the UI settings and zoom level in the Options tab in the game menu.
Since local multiplayer works just like online multiplayer, the same rules apply to it when you play split-screen. Split-screen mode allows you to do pretty much everything you get to do in single-player. However, there are differences in regard to some things like quests and sleeping when additional players are also being considered.
